When we chose an area of our land to clear, there was just one problem. It was the same area that contained the trees we'd chosen to save when we had our trees cut. The trees that we'd saved were hardwoods of oak, poplar, and sweet gum. We don't have a wood stove and we wanted to put them to good use. What should we do with them?We decided to try our hands at growing mushrooms. I had heard that growing mushrooms is a family affair but I didn't think that it really would be for our family. I was wrong. MrLivingOurWay drilled all the wholes in the logs and I heated all the wax but ShortCake (in the purple shirt above) and CupCake (in the bottom corner) were both able to paint the wax on. CupCake was even able to pound the plugs into the logs.
I'm looking forward to seeing how this project turns out and will keep you posted.
